How to Prepare and Pack a Shipment?

To ensure your shipment arrives safely at its desired destination, it's crucial that it's adequately protected and packed.

Shipment preparation and packaging involves placing the shipment contents in appropriate packaging (wrapper, box, suitcase, etc.). Proper handling of shipments is a responsibility we all share.

The cardboard should be firm and undamaged. It's not advisable to use packaging that was previously wet, even if it's dry when you're packing, as it loses its firmness.
Pack goods so they can be transported in any position, rather than having transport safety depend on the box's position.
Glass and other fragile and sensitive items: Such shipments must be marked as 'FRAGILE' on the packaging and must be packed so that items inside cannot move individually or touch each other.
The package must be firm and filled with appropriate protective material such as styrofoam, paper, etc. This maximally prevents damage to such shipments.
If the shipment contains liquid: Such shipments must be sealed in leak-proof containers and placed in a sturdy box filled with appropriate material that can absorb liquid in case of container breakage. It's particularly important to protect the contents from leaking to avoid endangering other shipments in collective transport.
If the shipment contains greasy substances: Such shipments must first be placed in a box, cloth bag, or similar container, then in a sturdy package that must prevent content leakage if the shipment is damaged.
An important aspect of shipment handling is to follow the arrow marked on the package pointing upward when lowering, handling, storing, etc.

How to Securely Close a Package?

For closing shipments, you can use glue, adhesive tape, cellophane tape, stretch wrap, etc., depending on the type and value of each individual shipment's contents.

Shipments submitted in closed packaging must be secured so that their contents, or any part thereof, cannot be removed without visible damage to the packaging and the means of closing the shipment (glue, adhesive tape, cellophane tape, stretch wrap, etc.)
